RESEARCH PROGRESS:

v2.0.0 beta5 In progress... DO YOU WANT TEST THE BETA VERSION? CLICK HERE AND ASK THE BETA INSTALLER

Core improvement: Added a check for a rare situation where multiple disks on the same machine have the same disk ID in windows. In this situation, if the user hides both volumes, then Hide My Disk isn't able to distinguish from each other. Now, if the user try to operate on one of these volumes, a popup appear that warns the user. It's still safe if you hide/unhide only one of these volumes at a time
Advanced letter Shiftine fix: Corrected interactions introduced with "Hide and forget" option
Small fixes to the engine and thorough tests for final 2.0 public release

v2.0.0 beta4
New feature: Recovery mode.
New feature: Hide and forget
various minor tune-up to the engine

v2.0.0 beta3

Major fix: If unhide a stealth volume and there are others volumes hidden, the stealth volume will unhide but others volume won't be accessible anymore
Core improvement: Now engine will wait for selected operation to terminate before executing other tasks. This will correct the problem of the blank list box that sometimes happens
Minor fix: User was able to hide a shifted volume. However doing this will create an error that, if you shutdown the program, prevent you from unhiding the stealth volume. Now you can no longer hide a shifted volume
Minor fix: Program crashes if you enablehide the last volume with Advanced Letter Shifting enabled. Now when hiding last volume, program will use normal hiding regardless the option is checked or not.

NEW improved Technology: “Advanced Letter Shifting”

What is “Advanced Letter Shifting” technology

Advanced Letter shifting is a technology that allows to perform a better hiding of your drives. When you have many Volumes, for example C D E F G, if you hide the drive letter “E”, your drive letters will become C D F G. If someone look at this, it’s easy to understand that something is missing there. Advanced letter shifting takes care of this problem. by taking the last drive letter in your computer and changing it to the letter of the volume you’re hiding. For example, in the previous situation you hide “E” drive, so leaving a “hole” in the drive letters. Advanced letter shifting do this: 1) Hides “E” drives and stores it’s information in the PC’s memory. 2) Takes the letter “G” and shifts it to “E”, and writes the changes to a file in the system disk for later restoring the original letters. If a malicious user looks at your pc it only sees C D E F so it’s harder to guess that something is missing. Even if there is a trace of something pointing at drive G he may think it’s a removable device now disconnected. This enables you to stealth your hidden drive. This can’t be done with floppy drives and with the last drive.
